Beach Party

Beach Party

Here at the Vicarage we like to do things that are a little out of the ordinary, so just to celebrate the summer months and what it used to mean to us we held our own “Beach party” on the 24th of August. It was a great success and staff and family joined in the fun and games. They even joined in and were dressed up with fancy skirts and coloured tops. Our Residents were able to enjoy the lovely soft sand poured into a dry paddling pool, a beautiful assortment of shells and even made sand castles out of the firmer sand. To help with the theme we watched the popular Seaside special programmes on the big screen (which were popular TV programmes in the 1970's)

Our Residents then enjoyed traditional fish and chips for lunch, followed by a seaside special performance by Rachel Hyde. Rachel sang lots of familiar seaside/holiday songs and bought along lots of props to share. To finish off with a traditional and always popular seaside must, we served ice cream cones and sugary doughnuts during the afternoon too. Everyone had a really enjoyable day and we received lots of positive feedback about the seaside event. This is something we hope to repeat next year.
